of some of the questions she has answered....
Q: I am 14, and I want
to Feng Shui my bedroom. Do you have any tips to do that? How
can I increase my chi and energy flow? What is the Bagua and
how do I use it? -Tracy
A: Dear Tracy--first of
all, let me say that you are ahead of the game and very wise
to want to use Feng Shui to better your life! I always tell
clients that Feng Shui is about stopping the process of "pushing
the river", that is, making things harder in their lives. Instead,
Feng Shui teaches you to go with the flow. I want to recommend
to you this: Go to my website at homepeace.com and
download your very own Bagua free and intructions are
included. They are written to diagnose a house but you can easily
apply it to your room. A Bagua is the tool used by the Black
Hat Feng Shui practitioner. First, an informal bird's eye view
(from above) diagram is drawn of the house, office, building,
or room. Then the Bagua is superimposed over the building (or
room). The Bagua is in the shape of an American stop sign, eight-sided
and every side has a life value represented on it. When superimposed
over your room, you can see where your health area, self-knowledge
(for study and things like self-esteem), Reputation, Love and
other things exists in your room. Then comes the really fun
part. You see if your real life issues or problems reflect the
Life Value that the Bagua represents in your room. For instance,
let's say that you have an art project due at school, but absolutely
no creative ideas on what to make. After superimposing the Bagua
over your room's diagram, you figure out were your Child/Creativity
area lives in your room. Let's say that you have mound of clothes
there, an old banana peel, and a trashcan. Feng Shui is a language
of symbols. If I was doing a consult of your room and knew of
your art project issue, the first thing I would recommend is
a clutter-clear. See then if ideas flowed. Another suggestion:
Get the book:
Move your stuff, Change Your life. Great book by Karen
Rauch Carter. Easy to understand and also funny at times.
TIPS FOR BEDROOM: 1)Make sure that you can see the door when
you are lying in your bed. This is the empowerment position
and will bring confidence and peace to your life. If moving
bed is impossible, hang mirror so that when you are lying in
bed, you can see the bedroom door. 2) Do not store things under
the bed. Let "chi" or life force flow all round and under it.
3) Hang a crystal or bead (glass or gem) by fishing line (1
or 3 inches--odd is better) about a foot in from the door, from
the ceiling. Imagine that this is holding in the "chi" for all
parts of the Bagua Life Values. 4) Clean your room of clutter.
Chi needs space to circulate. Do not have too much furniture.
5) Keep closet door closed and put an inexpensive auto-mirror
on the inside door, imagining that the stuff left (after you
clutter-clear) is staying inside closet and not affecting you.
6) If you have a bathroom, there are many things to do that
I will answer if that is the case, do let me know--but for now,
be sure you keep the bathroom door closed and put a full length
mirror on the outside of the closed door. Imagine that it is
reflecting your bedroom back as well as the good energy that
you are creating away from the bathroom and its many drains.
Hope this helps--you are sure to become a Feng Shui expert by
20!
Sincerely--Gabrielle
